24K Mobile TV’s four month and counting relationship has proven to be a major gift for not only the Red Deer Food Bank but many of the agencies and individuals that we serve. The “Mobile Billboard” is a 1 ton cube van that travels around the city displaying advertising. At the same time the driver stops at designated locations to do regular Food Bank pick-ups. This has saved the Red Deer Food Bank a significant operational expense, almost 2 hours a day with our regular truck and driver.

As a result of this saving we are able to reallocate the surplus to more local efforts. We are now able to provide deliveries to other agencies that deal with the impoverished of our city. As much of the food we collect on a daily basis is time sensitive agencies often have difficulty in getting to us to get the best product. Now when needed we the ability to deliver to soup kitchens and shelters a fresher more nutritious product.

Additionally we are able to make more out of town pick-ups to glean produce from the surrounding “Green House” industry. This again not only benefits the Red Deer Food Banks clients but also the agencies with in our city that have feeding programs.

The Red Deer Food Bank fully supports the continuation of this enterprise. Make no mistake this cooperation between 24K Mobile TV and the Red Deer Food Bank has resulted in a better service to those in our community that would otherwise go with out. Each day 24K Mobile TV demonstrates a clear example of how a business can utilize their efforts toward helping those less fortunate and ultimately make for a healthier community.
